This album is different—at least for me.
For the first time, I feel like I truly created a record. Let me explain.
My previous albums were conceived as music to be performed. The compositions were written to be played live and then recorded. This time, instead of writing the notes first, I imagined the space in which they would live in. The music began with the sound itself: the space, the depth, the texture, and the sound itself. It was like working on a blank canvas. Electronics and production became part of the creative process from the very beginning, adding a completely new dimension to the way the music came to life.
As the title suggests, this album was inspired by the night—specifically the tranquility and peacefulness it offers. At a time when I felt overwhelmed by the state of my country, the world, and the personal challenges my family was facing, my nighttime walks became moments of stillness and refuge. Away from the noise, under an infinite, star-filled sky, everything slowed down. The stillness, the darkness, and the vastness above became the foundation for this music.
Beneath its apparent simplicity, Night Music may be my most complex and richly layered recording. Creating it helped me find peace, and I hope it does the same for you.
And if this album puts you to sleep, then I know I succeeded.
