After the success of All the Days of My Life, I found myself deeply inspired and motivated to begin my second album. I was determined to create the best recording I possibly could. At the same time, my personal life was filled with challenges that made that goal feel distant and, at times, unattainable.
As I continued writing, I realized the music was being shaped by that very struggle—the constant push, the feeling of swimming upstream. When the world seemed to pull me away from what I loved most, it was that same resistance that became fuel. It forced me to look up, to ascend, and to rise. This album was born from that tension: the fight between being pulled down and choosing to rise anyway.
